Orchha also known as Urcha is a town in Niwari district of Madhya Pradesh. The town was founded by Maharaja Rudra Pratap Singh who was the first king of Orchha. It lies on Betwa River. It is a well-connected city .Cities like Jhansi and Tikamgarh are located in its vicinity and another major city like Kanpur is only 4 hour drive away from it.

As Orchha is on the bank of Betwa, it is a great place for river rafting and is a famous adventurous spot of the town. The river is wide and has a placid flow which gives tough challenge while rafting. The spot for rafting is 1.5 km from fort. The rafting is organized by Madhya Pradesh tourism. The charges may vary depending on the season and group size and is closed during the monsoon.
